A couple of the fish died today – Jack and Stumpy. Jack was a ghost coy fish, our largest. He had a kink in his body so sort of had an ‘S’ shaped spine, quite a character and will be missed. Stumpy was the wee gold fish who seemed to have been born without a tail. It never slowed him down and he always brought a smile to our faces in the tank.

I’ll be getting the tank cleaned out asap tomorrow – bit late now for the 2-3 hour job tbh. It looks like the filter needed cleaning but as I recall it didn’t seem that bad at the weekend. Easy in hindsight to rethink these things.

RIP stumpy and jack…

Hey Craig, How's it going? I'm sorry about your fish, Stumpy and Jack! Congratulations on getting married - it looks like you and Sammy had a lovely day! I check in on your website every once in a while to see how you and other folks are doing - it has been a little while since the last time though, otherwise I would have congratulated you on getting engaged! - and noticed you'd just posted a blog and thought, that the hey, I'll say hi! I guess I should mention what I'm doing and the like - okay, here goes... I'm currently working towards my PhD at the Whittle Laboratory, Cambridge, in the field of aircraft engine aerodynamics. My research is sponsored by Rolls-Royce and they have a division in Indianapolis in the States, which is where I'm writing this blog from! I've been out here for about 5 months or so working on my research at the design office RR have here, and I should be back in the UK for Christmas. I've met lots of fun folk out here - some crackers Republicans too, but let's not stray into Politics! - especially one young lad of 11, Ray, who plays Runescape way too much (apparently his Mom caught him fighting dragons in his sleep and had to wake him up!) and loves stories about dragons with telepathic links to their riders. He's been reading Eragon stories up until now, but I'm planning on getting him into Anne McCaffrey stories - an endeavour I'm sure you'd endorse! I've got about 1 more year on my PhD to go (well, maybe 18 months, but it doesn't hurt to be optimistic) and then I may well be working permanently out here in Indy. They offered me a Job last week for when I finish my PhD, and I'm giving it very serious consideration, as I've enjoyed my time out here so far very much. I guess I'd better split, but it's good to see you're doing so well! Take care! Bronwyn

Hey, good to hear from you. sounds like life's well indeed. Andy and I were talking at the wedding about how we hadn't heard from you in a while. Gotta admit - looking forward to the Eragon film and I still have a love of the McCaffrey books (which her son is now getting into writing). Would be good to catch up at some point - I'll mail ya with my IM details etc. cheers, c
