The Ahn'Qiraj Tailgate
People are getting terribly excited about the arrival of the qiraji!
The Ahn’Qiraj Tailgate: “AFK Gamer reports live from in front of the Ahn’Qiraj gate on the Medivh server in World of Warcraft. Folks on that server became the first in the game to complete the grueling quest to supply the Alliance and Horde with supplies. The supplies (food, bandages, and ore) are slated to be used in the upcoming war with the insect-monsters of the Silithus Zone. Now that the quest is complete, it will be almost five days as the supplies make their way to the front lines. At that point, the Gate of Ahn’Qiraj will open and two new dungeons will become available to the community. Players from all servers have been flocking to Medivh to witness the event, which has prompted a response from Blizzard. From Foton’s report: ‘We had a difficult decision when players started gravitating towards Medivh. In the end, we had to make a choice between: 1) Letting everyone show up in Ahn’Qiraj until the realm crashed, thus allowing no one to experience the event whatsoever; or 2) Remove the low level players from the area, thus allowing the players who worked for the event - the true residents and community of the realm - to enjoy it.’ As a result of yesterday’s events, they’ve disallowed new characters on the Medivh server.”

Homework on WoW
hehe – amusing blog this one.
Homework on WoW: “At the Trinity University of San Antonio you can take a course on ‘Games for the Web: Ethnography of Massively Multiplayer On-line Games’. This includes writing a paper on your experiences in World of Warcraft. You can find the results of the students homework here. Seems I visited the wrong kind of university. Can I get some academic credit for my blog?”

Java 4K Game Development Contest
This is absolutely superb. Doubt I have the will to submit though. Would be fun :)
Java 4K Game Development Contest: “mrseigen writes ‘Java Unlimited has been running a contest since Dec 1 to develop a game in Java using only four kilobytes of bytecode and resources. You have until March 1 to finish your entries, and it’s worth looking at the entries for last years’ contest.’”
PSP Programming Tutorials
PSP Programming Tutorials: “A Reader writes ‘Since its inception, the PSP Homebrew Community has been hacking away at their little jem of a portable console. Its valiant efforts in the fight for open hardware have not been well received by Sony. Regardless, Yeldarb, a homebrew programmer, has released a PSP Programming Tutorial Series. It covers everything from setting up the development environment to writing your first program to sprucing up your programs with a little graphics programming. The tutorial series is a must read for anyone interested in joining the PSP hacking community.’” – from slashdot
